    No Man’s Land
    By James H. Knight-Adkin

NO Man’s Land is an eerie sight
At early dawn in the pale gray light.
Never a house and never a hedge
In No Man’s Land from edge to edge,
And never a living soul walks there
    To taste the fresh of the morning air;
Only some lumps of rotting clay,
That were friends or foemen yesterday.

your poem is about being stuck in no-man's land
    something in between
    neutral zone
where your hopes and aspirations (friends) lie buried

We feel silence at lower frequency and at very high frequency.
Lower frequency is equivalent to loneliness, despair, sleep and the other one is hope, belongingness and bliss.
try for the elevated state, you will love silence
